10 Best Places to Visit in Dubai
If you’re an avid traveler, Dubai will not disappoint. The city offers a variety of places to visit, both traditional and modern. In this must-explore city, you’ll find traditional souks, magnificent skyscrapers, man-made islands, and a lot more.
Let’s not waste any more time and see what the city has to offer.

Burj Khalifa

Our first stop is the most popular tourist destination in Dubai. The Burj Khalifa has come to symbolize the city. At an astonishing height of 829.8m, the world’s tallest building is a must-visit. During our trip we went up to the 124th floor and enjoyed the breathtaking view of the city. One thing that we learned during our trip is that it’s best to book your tickets for the top floor beforehand, as it can get busy during the weekends.

Dubai Mall

The next stop is the Dubai Mall. Located in Downtown Dubai, the mall has over 1,200 shops, a wide range of restaurants, a cineplex with over 22 screens, an aquarium, a mini theme park, and the list goes on.We had to reserve an entire day to explore the extravagant mall. The various attractions in the mall kept us occupied for hours.

Al Bastakiya

We also had the chance to move away from the glamour of the modern city, and visit the historic district of Al Bastakiya. Also known as Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, this neighborhood was once scheduled for demolition, but was saved to preserve the cultural heritage of the city.
During our visit to the popular tourist spot, Al Bastakiya, we explored every nook and cranny of the place. Some of the places we visited  included an art gallery, an Arabian tea cafe, a cultural center, and a coffee museum. There’s a lot to explore, so be sure to schedule you trip beforehand.

Dubai Museum

located inside Al Fahidi Fort, one of the oldest buildings in the city, the Dubai Museum is the best place to visit if you want to know more about the culture and traditions of the people of Dubai. We learned during our visit that the museum preserves the emirate’s cultural artifacts, as well as artifacts that were obtained by Dubai through trade. The trip to the museum was quite insightful and allowed us to glimpse into the culture and history of the city.
In short, if you like learning about places and the history they hold, this should be on your list.

Dubai Creek

This saltwater creek links the old parts of Dubai to the newer ones. We sailed along the creek on top of one of the traditional boats, with Deira on the north and Bur Dubai on the south.
This short trip to the creek allowed us to relax and enjoy the view. Moreover, we also enjoy an afternoon picnic at Dubai Creek Park. If you’re planning on visiting Dubai with your friends or family, then the creek is a great place for you to bond with your loved ones.

Jumeirah Mosque

This beautiful Fatimid style mosque is another one of the popular tourist attractions in the city. Under one of the programs by the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the mosque is also accessible to non-Muslims via organized tours. We had the chance to visit the mosque, under the condition that all of us maintain proper attire. The mosque welcomes tourists six out of seven days a week.

Deira is one of the oldest areas in Dubai. Located in the north of Dubai Creek, Deira is famous for its souks or traditional market vendors. Here we found  everything from spices to well-crafted jewelry. If you’re only stopping at Dubai for a short while, then this is the best place to visit as it just a couple of minutes away from the airport.

Jumeirah Beach

doesn’t love a trip to the beach? We dedicated one day during our trip to relaxing on the sandy strip at Jumeirah Beach under the golden rays of the sun. We also enjoy various forms of water sports as well. At the end of our fun day at the beach, we were stopped by at the various restaurants available at the beach to fill our stomachs. So, be sure to pack your swimwear so you can kick back and relax at the beach.

Dubai Miracle Garden

The Dubai Miracle Garden is the world’s largest natural flower garden. The garden comes to live during November and May every year. If you’re the type to enjoy nature and its beauty, then this place is perfect for you. Our visit to the Miracle Garden was amazing, vibrant colors and beautiful flowers greeted us in every direction. Furthermore, with over 150 million flowers arranged in various colorful patterns, the Dubai Miracle Garden is a sight to see.

Dubai Opera

The 2000 seat theater was built to become the hub of entertainment. Various performances such as opera, ballet, musical theater, concerts, comedy shows, etc, are hosted at the Dubai Opera all year. We managed to squeeze in just enough time to visit this magnificent theater, and were able to watch an amazing performance as well.
So, if you’re in the mood for an entertaining performance, you should also add this to your list of places to visit in Dubai.
